“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”– John 14:1-3
This verse ministered to me so much while I read it this morning. It reminded me that fearing my situations or what may lie ahead is never an option. Why are we doubtful? Why are we afraid if we’ll be able to pay our bills next month? Or why are we afraid if a family member will pass away? Jesus said to believe in him, because as we continue to serve him wholeheartedly, he is preparing a place for us in heaven. He is preparing mansions for us.
Moreover, the condition of this world is that they are after earthly treasures. They are after more business, money, fame, success. The problem with this is that we cannot take our luxury lifestyles to heaven. We can’t take our Ferrari or Lamborghini to heaven. We can’t take our business, diplomas, or wealth to heaven. The only thing that we can take to heaven are people. This is what the heart of God is after. When they asked Jesus about money and taxes, he said to go to the sea and open the mouth of the fish that is there, because in his mouth, there it lied. This coin in the mouth of this fish represented finances, and the fish represented souls (God’s people). In other words, his worries wasn’t on finances or what the world will bring, but in continuing to advance the kingdom of God.
This needs to be our desire and condition!
Dear heavenly Father, I declare that you will eradicate any situation that has been afflicting our minds and bodies! I declare that we have power over any spirit of poverty, lack, and turmoil! I declare that your body will rise up in freedom from poverty, curses, and destruction! I declare that we will see breakthroughs, and that the best is yet ahead of us! In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen!
